In addition to the Planning Council General Session quarterly meetings, which typically examine one topical, trending issue in mental and behavioral health services or policy, the CBHPC has six standing committees organized around a specific function or focus in mental health, and the Executive Committee, who liaison between the committees and the Executive team. ​​​

When needed, the CBHPC also forms ad-hoc workgroups to address issues that require a rapid turnaround and have a mission-specific objective.
