The Legislation Committee addresses public policy issues impacting the access to and effectiveness of behavioral health programs to promote the recovery of persons living with serious mental illness including persons who are dually diagnosed with mental illness and substance use disorders. The committee’s work includes, but is not limited to, increasing public behavioral health awareness through press and media, partnering with local consumer advocacy agencies to improve access and quality of care, responding to proposed legislation, rule-making, and budget bills based on the
Policy Platform.
