The Medi-Cal Eligibility Division (MCED) is responsible for the development, coordination, clarification, and implementation of Medi-Cal regulations, policy, and procedures to assure Medi-Cal eligibility is determined accurately and timely by the 58 county human services agencies.​​​​​

Express Lane

The Express Lane Enrollment Project is based on federal guidance designed to streamline Medi-Cal enrollment for CalFresh recipients.

Former Foster Care Youth​

Individuals who were in foster care at age 18 are now eligible for Medi-Cal until age 26.
 
The Breast and Cervical Cancer Treatment Program (BCCTP) provides needed cancer treatment to eligible individuals diagnosed with breast and/or cervical cancer and who are in need of treatment.

Medi-Cal Access Program

The Medi-Cal Access Program (MCAP)  provides ​health insurance coverage to uninsured, middle income pregnant women.

Presumptive Eligibility

The Presumptive Eligibility (PE) for pregnant women program is designed for low-income California residents.
 
The Hospital Presumptive Eligibility (HPE)​ program provides individuals with temporary, no-cost, Medi-Cal benefits for up to two months.  

 
The COVID-19 Presumptive Eligibility Program allows individuals to seek the necessary diagnostic testing and testing-related services related to COVID-19.

 
The Breast and Cervical Cancer Treatment Program Presumptive Eligibility Flexibilities due to COVID-19​ ​allows EWC and FPACT Qualified Providers the ability to accept telephonic signatures for applications. 

​​Health Navigators Project                

The Navigators Project allocates funding to counties and community base organizations to provide outreach, enrollment, and retention services.
