Stakeholder Hearing Invitation: Updated Designation of Categorical Risk Level for LA County Pharmacies
On March 15, 2022, the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) will hold a virtual public hearing to discuss the regulatory provider bulletin updating the designation of categorical risk level for pharmacy applicants and providers in Los Angeles County. Pursuant to Welfare & Institutions Code Section 14043.38(a), DHCS has reassessed the risk of potential fraud, waste, and abuse posed by pharmacy providers in Los Angeles County. As a result, DHCS will designate and screen pharmacy applicants and providers in Los Angeles County that are seeking enrollment in Medi-Cal for the first time, submitting an application for continued enrollment, or updating the information submitted in a previously approved application as “limited” categorical risk.
Please see the
provider bulletin draft for more information. You are invited to join DHCS to discuss this proposed change.
