Construction and Renovation Reimbursement Program

Welfare and Institutions Code section 14085.5 authorizes the Construction and Renovation Reimbursement Program. This program provides supplemental reimbursement for the debt service incurred on the revenue bonds for construction, renovation, or replacement of facilities or fixed equipment. The Construction and Renovation Reimbursement Program is administered by the Department of Health Care Services.

To be eligible for reimbursements under this program, a hospital must:

• Serve a disproportionate number of Medi-Cal beneficiaries or other low income patients; and
• Have a required plan for a new capital project funded by new debt submitted to the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development after September 1, 1988 and prior to June 30, 1994.
