​​​​​Multipurpose Senior Services Program

The Multipurpose Senior Services Program (MSSP) Waiver provides Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) to Medi-Cal eligible individuals who are 65 years or older and disabled as an alternative to nursing facility placement.  The MSSP waiver allows the individuals to remain safely in their homes.

The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and the California Department of Aging (CDA) are committed to engaging in a public process for an amendment of the Multipurpose Senior Services Program (MSSP) Waiver. The 1915(c) Home and Community-Based Services Waiver Application is posting for a 30-day Public Comment Period from July 1 – July 30, 2022.

Eligibility Requirements

  • READ BEFORE ENROLLING
  • Medi-Cal individuals who, but for the provision of such services, would require the Nursing Facility (NF) level of care
  • Aged 65 years and older
  • Individuals shall only be enrolled in one HCBS waiver at any a time
  • Individuals must reside in a county with an MSSP Site
