Medi-Cal Dental Program
Dental services are currently provided as one of the many benefits under the Medi-Cal program.
Fair Hearing
A service available if you have applied for, have received, or are currently receiving benefits/services from Medi-Cal AND you have a complaint about how your benefits/services are/were handled, or your services have been denied or modified.
Health Insurance Premium Payments
The Health Insurance Branch is responsible for ensuring that the Medi-Cal program is the payer of last resort through the identification and utilization of private health insurance and Medicare resources available to individual Medi-Cal beneficiaries.
Medi-Cal
Medi-Cal, California's Medicaid program, is a public insurance health care program which provides health care services for low-income individuals and families who meet defined eligibility requirements.
Medi-Cal Eligibility
The Medi-Cal Eligibility Division (MCED) is responsible for the coordination, clarification, and implementation of Medi-Cal regulations, policy, and procedures to assure that Medi-Cal eligibility is determined accurately and on a timely basis by the 58 county public social services agencies.
Medi-Cal Estate Recovery
Recovers Medi-Cal expenditures from the estates of certain deceased Medi-Cal beneficiaries for services received on or after the individual’s 55th birthday.
Medi-Cal Managed Care
Contracts for health care services through established networks of organized systems of care, which emphasize primary and preventive care.
Medi-Cal Premium Payments
Medi-Cal monthly premium payments may be required of some children who have transitioned from the Healthy Families Program or have applied for Medi-Cal. Premiums are based on a family’s income and family size.
Medi-Cal Third Party Liability and Recovery
Ensures that the Medi-Cal program complies with State and federal laws and regulations relating to the legal liability of third parties for health care services to beneficiaries, and that the Medi-Cal program is the payer of last resort.
Medi-Cal Waivers
Medi-Cal waivers are programs that provide additional services to specific groups of individuals, limit services to specific geographic areas, and provide medical coverage to individuals who may not otherwise be eligible under Medicaid rules.
Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Program
In 2003, Congress signed into law the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act. This law includes a prescription drug benefit called Medicare Part D.
Treatment Authorization Request (TAR)
A TAR is a form, either paper or electronic that a Medi-Cal Provider uses to request services for beneficiary care.
Vision Care Program
Vision care is one of the health benefits that are covered for most beneficiaries eligible under the Medi-Cal program.
