I'm Seeking Help

You are not alone. Nationwide, 51.5 million adults struggle with a mental illness and 19.7 million people struggle with an alcohol or drug addiction.

If you think you are having an emergency for an unexpected medical condition, including a psychiatric emergency medical condition, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room for help. If you or someone you know is in crisis, please call 911 or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255).

All county mental health departments have 24/7 hotlines for local residents seeking assistance in a crisis and to access local mental health programs. You can find your county's information at this link for County Mental Health Crisis Numbers.

Any resident can call 24/7 or walk into a county mental health office during business hours, and speak with a crisis worker. We encourage family members to call or come in if they are concerned a family member may harm themselves or is considering an act of violence – county mental health departments can help them to develop a safety plan.
