Dental Managed Care
The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is expecting to release RFP #23-30001 on behalf of the DHCS Medi-Cal Dental Services Division (MDSD) in early 2023. The purpose of the RFP is to solicit proposals from Knox-Keene licensed dental plans that are able to provide Dental Managed Care services to beneficiaries of Medi-Cal. The RFP will procure two different Plan Model types: Geographic Managed Care (GMC) Plans in Sacramento County and Prepaid Health Plan (PHP) in Los Angeles County. DHCS intends to award at least two (2) contracts in each county to firms that are able to provide Dental Managed Care services to beneficiaries in each county. This RFP will be open to all independent practices, associations, health insurance carriers, private foundations, university medical centers, non-for-profit clinics and other Primary Care Providers organized and operated as dental managed care plans, for the provision of dental managed healthcare plan services.
