Pharmacy Reimbursement Project

The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) has contracted with Mercer Government Human Services Consulting (Mercer), a part of Mercer Health & Benefits LLC, to conduct an Actual Acquisition Cost (AAC) and Professional Dispensing Fee (PDF) survey. These efforts were driven by the release of the final rule (42CFR Part 447 Part II) on February 1, 2016 for Covered Outpatient Drugs (CODs) by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). This final rule implements provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, pertaining to Medicaid reimbursement for CODs. The survey results are now in, and DHCS is moving forward with implementation to comply with the final rule.​​
