Assembly Bill 2265 Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Assessment Data
Pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code section 5891.5, counties are required to report to DHCS the number of people assessed for co-occurring mental health (MH) and substance use disorder (SUD) and the number of people assessed for co-occurring SUD who were later determined to have only an SUD without another co-occurring MH condition.
Beginning January 1, 2022, and each year after, DHCS will report this data on its website as both statewide counts and counts by county or groupings of counties, as necessary to protect the private health information of persons assessed. The spreadsheets below include data that counties have to report to DHCS for each fiscal year (FY), with the exception of FY 2020/21 which only includes the time period of January 1, 2021 through June 30, 2021. Please note that some data cells are suppressed in order to protect health information and personal information in accordance with DHCS’ Data De-identification guidelines.
